Its a porsche boxter (S?), around 1998 I’m guessing. But what is the engine size!?
I hope it’s not a girly soft top / convertable!
Nice going on a porsche though – and nice low millage too!!
Chriiiiis! Nice to know about you!! It is indeed a 2001 Porsche Boxster S (3.2L, 252bhp). And yes, it is a soft top. Mainly because all Boxsters are convertible! I used to hate convertibles… until I saw this one. and you would not imagine what it is to drive slowly along the coast with the top down in a sunny day in spring
. Apart from that, you can not imagine the linearity in power output since low revs up to the brute force and the sound at 5000rpm and onwards
Regarding the mileage, it is 68000km, but the engine was changed at 60000 km at a Porsche service (12000 euros for the operation, I’ve got a record of it!). So the baby only has 8000km!
So how is the Audi doing? And the work? And everything? Tell meeeeee!
Yo ho ho amigo
252 bhp! I bet you get 2l/km!?
I’m only jealous!
Sounds very very nice. Nice find on the engine too! Very cool.
Audi still going just. Had timing belt, air con compressor, brake master cylinder, brake servo, brake discs & pads, and 4 tyres all changed. I have done 50,000 miles (80km) in 2 years so it has been hard hit.
Still – it’s running fine for the moment, and I still love it for its practicality. I’d die for a 4-door A5, 3.0 TDI quattro – they are gorgeous!!
Doing well in my new work. It’s in Knutsford near Manchester. R is looking for a job in the northwest too. We’re also buying a house! Hopefully before or in May this year!
What about you Mr Administrator? How’s life, job, living – can’t be bad if you’ve got a Porsche!
Well, keep in mind that the car was 18k€, not the original 60k€! So things are really good (but not that massively good to buy a new one
) Regarding mileage, if you get throttle-happy then you’ll get into the 15 L/100km (around 16 mpg
). If you do something like 140km/h on 6th gear then you might stretch that to 10L/100km (24mpg). Translating this into something more tangible: one full tank 400 or 500 km. So fuel efficiency is not its strongest point.
I am also hitting your kind of mileage, but I am really happy with the Focus I bought when I started working here. You know, it must resist, as I am not going to work with the Porsche – no way! And man, with a 4-door A5 you would get desperate. No way you can put a bicycle and all related apparels in there. Two reasons; first one, you will not have so much space as now. Second, you will NOT want to put a bike in there!
Congratulations on the joing buying! Am I hearing wedding bells? What is you new job about?
Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you and good luck!
